Writing Content that Google Will Love
Google is one of the most visited websites on the Internet. This means that writing content that Google will love is essential when writing for the web. That is, if you want anyone to read what you write.
Individuals use Google in particular because it helps them find information that is relevant to what they are searching for. While other search engines do this as well, Google’s simple design has made it especially popular. That does not mean you should not use other search engines as many engines use similar search algorithms and the same tips can be utilized across all of them.
How Google Determines Results Page Rankings
Google and other search engines use a technique called Search Engine Optimization (SEO). However, it can be difficult to learn how to make your content SEO compatible. At its very basics, SEO takes a given search criteria and tries to match it up as best as possible with varying numbers of relevant pages that are available on the web. It recognizes patterns or key phrases within the text to connect the engine user with useful information.
You do not necessarily want to write articles in which the main goal is to be recognized by Google, however. The main purpose of a web article is to get some sort of information or idea to the reader. While making your content available to the reader is an important aspect, you also want to make sure that you are producing the content that your audience will find interesting. Try to think of SEO compatibility as supplementary to your article, rather than making it the number one priority.
Using SEO Effectively
Your content should not simply be a continual list of key words and phrases in order to get your page into search results. The article should have these phrases and words naturally integrated into your content. If they are already in the article, Google will be more likely to recognize your content as relevant to certain search results. Having too many of the key words and phrases will give the Google search engine the impression that your article is wholly spam, and will not include it in top search results.
Creating Solid Content
If your audience does not find your content interesting or useful, then appearing in Google searches will not do your article any good. It is important to maintain traffic to your page by creating genuinely helpful content if you want any Google users to return after the initial search.
While Google can be useful when trying to gather new readers, it cannot help you maintain a solid readership. When in doubt, just keep writing. Search engines like Google will recognize fresh content on your site. The more often you create, the more frequently Google will check your page for relevant information.
