You’re not competing against shoe companies all across the United States or across the world. You’re only competing against other businesses in your local area—Dallas or Fort Worth, in this hypothetical example.
The second benefit is that many people are actively seeking out local options. They’re not just looking for the best shoes. They want to find shoes that they can try on or purchase today. The Google search that they’re running is just the first step. When you use localized keywords, you directly target these consumers, so there is a greater chance that they will make a purchase or come to your physical location. They’re not just doing research, but looking for local shopping options, which you can provide.
