How Often Should You Post on Social Media?
Social media is clearly a way to expand the reach that your brand has and to find a new or larger audience. You can also use it to connect with the audience that you already have, keeping your brand fresh in their minds and even interacting with them to do things like answering questions or telling them about upcoming products. Social media creates this level of interaction in a way that no other type of advertising has in the past.
When people first began to realize the benefits of their social media profiles, there wasn’t even a question of how much to post. It was generally just assumed that engagement would go up as the number of posts went up. Quantity was the only thing that was really important, and so people would post quite frequently.
Times Have Changed
However, things have now changed, and many people will grow rather fatigued with a brand that is posting constantly. They may even become so annoyed that they end up with a negative opinion of that brand. Still others will stop following social media accounts or even block them if they feel that too many posts are being put up. People are on social media quite a lot in 2023, and so it can feel like an endless barrage of information.
At the same time, though, you don’t want to post too little content. If you only put up a post once every month, it may not accomplish your goals or drive nearly as much engagement as you hoped. You also don’t get the benefit of momentum.
For this reason, you generally want to focus on posting at least once a week. It may even be more beneficial to put up three or four posts per week. This number is high enough that your brand appears to be active and helpful, but not so high that your audience becomes frustrated by it. They won’t forget about you, but they also won’t feel overwhelmed.
