When is the ideal time for SEO blogging?
Blogging can be an effective way to do search engine optimization. It is also a great way to get relevant information in front of your audience. Blog posts are fairly versatile. They help you with keywords, they can be shared on social media, they can answer questions that your audience already has and much more.
But even understanding the benefits of blogging, you may find yourself wondering about the specifics of how you should approach it. For instance, people sometimes wonder what time they should schedule their blog posts for. Is there a specific time that will make them more effective than another?
There is no one-size-fits-all answer
The main thing to remember is that there is not a specific time that works best for all blog posts in all situations. There is no rule like “publishing a blog post at noon on a Friday will always get you the best results.” The reality is that it depends on a multitude of factors, such as your intent, your target audience, the purpose of the post and much more.
For example, you might be hoping that social media engagement will go up due to your blogging. If you are going to be sharing the posts on Facebook or other platforms, some studies suggest that the morning on Thursdays, between nine and 10 o’clock, is typically the best.
But if you are not focused on social media engagement and are instead focusing on maximizing the blog traffic itself, while 9:00 a.m. is still a good time to post, Mondays and Tuesdays tend to get more traction.
What is your target audience?
As you can see from the above, posting early in the day is often helpful, in part because people are scrolling on their phones or browsing websites in the office. If your blog posts are aimed at corporate professionals, they may spend the morning checking websites, reading their emails, responding to text messages and doing other things of this nature before they start meetings or business trips.
But if your target audience is college students, for example, posting in the morning may not get you the best traffic. Those students would be in school and may not be allowed to use their phones in class, so they have far less access to your content. You may be better off posting later in the day or on the weekends, when they are more likely to be online.
So the real key is to understand the intent of your posts and your target audience. This can give you an idea of when your blogging will be most effective. There is no silver bullet that works in all cases, but understanding these factors can help you get the most out of your blogging this year.
