Pierre Far, a Webmaster Trends Analyst for Google, announced last week that an update to the Panda algorithm has begun rolling out. For those that aren’t aware, the Panda algorithm is Google’s way of penalizing spammy sites and moving high-quality content upwards in search engine results.
Earlier this month, we reported how smaller social networks might be the future of social media. They potentially offer more intimate connections with like-minded members, without forcing users to maintain a profile that’s acceptable to hundreds – if not thousands – of different people.
Earlier this week, several sources reported that Google is no longer forcing users to create a Google Plus profile when signing up for a Google account. Instead, users can simply click a “no thanks” button during signup and go on using services such as Gmail without establishing a profile on the social network.

According to a blog post shared by Tarun Jain, Twitter is testing out a new feature that could seriously increase the social network’s e-commerce influence. Known simply as the “buy” button, the feature will allow users to purchase products directly from a Tweet.
