Yahoo has been struggling lately, losing approximately 2.3% of overall search engine market share over the past year. Google and Bing, meanwhile, continue to surge. The latest bad news for Yahoo, as reported by AllThingsD, is a bit more significant than an incremental drop in search engine market share.
A few of months ago, rumors were swirling that Google would finally release its hosted cloud storage service, tentatively called Google Drive. At the time, the rumors suggested the release would occur within a few weeks, but some SEO experts started to wonder whether the rumors were just an echo of similar announcements from 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2011 when that timeframe came and went.

According to Search Engine Land, Google is working on a new algorithm that will penalize sites that attempt to “over-optimize” or “over-SEO” their on-site content.
The announcement was delivered by Matt Cutts, the head of the webspam team at Google, at a South by Southwest panel named “Dear Google and Bing: Help Me Rank Better.”
